Fuji IX GP Capsules C4 are a packable glass ionomer restorative made by GC, an easy-to-use, fluoride-releasing alternative to amalgam, compomers and composites, given in pre-measured capsules for a quick, mess-free mix.

As a true glass ionomer, it chemically bonds directly to both enamel and dentine, so there’s no need for etching or bonding agents. It has a tooth-like coefficient of thermal expansion and releases significant, rechargeable levels of fluoride, helping protect the surrounding tooth structure over time. It cures extremely hard and is very wear resistant, with high compressive and flexural strengths that support durability and long-term integrity. Shade C4 suits patients with darker natural tooth colouring.

The material has a packable, dough-like consistency, so it can be condensed in a similar way to amalgam, then shaped and finished with metal instruments without sticking or pulling away from the preparation. It’s a versatile choice suited to Class I, II and V restorations, core build-ups, and long-term temporary or intermediate restorations, and it’s a particularly good fit for paediatric and geriatric patients where a straightforward, tooth-conserving approach is helpful.
