Fuji IX GP Extra Liquid

Fuji IX GP Extra Liquid is the companion liquid for GC’s Fuji IX GP Extra packable glass ionomer restorative, made to be mixed by hand with the powder for a reliable, tooth-conserving alternative to amalgam.

As a true glass ionomer, the set material chemically bonds directly to both enamel and dentine, so there’s no need for etching or bonding agents. It has a tooth-like coefficient of thermal expansion and releases high levels of rechargeable fluoride, helping protect the surrounding tooth structure over time. The Extra formulation is the fastest-setting glass ionomer in the Fuji IX GP range, giving 1 and a quarter minutes of working time while still allowing final finishing in just 2 and a half minutes from the start of mixing, saving valuable chair time without rushing the clinician.

Once mixed, the material handles with a packable, dough-like consistency similar to amalgam, so it can be shaped and finished with metal instruments without sticking to them or pulling away from the preparation. It suits a wide range of uses, including Class I, II and V restorations, core build-ups and long-term temporary restorations, and it’s particularly well suited to paediatric and geriatric cases where a straightforward, tooth-conserving technique matters.
