Fuji IX GP Extra Powder C4

Fuji IX GP Extra Powder C4 is a packable glass ionomer restorative made by GC, designed to give dentists a reliable, fast-setting alternative to amalgam with genuine glass ionomer properties.

As a true glass ionomer, it chemically bonds directly to both enamel and dentine, so there’s no need for etching or bonding agents. It has a tooth-like coefficient of thermal expansion and releases high levels of rechargeable fluoride, helping protect the surrounding tooth structure over time. The Extra formulation brings improvements over standard Fuji IX, with a faster set, higher fluoride release and greater translucency for a more natural-looking finish, while still keeping the same ample working time clinicians are used to. Shade C4 suits patients with darker natural tooth colouring.

It’s a genuinely packable material, so it handles similarly to amalgam and can be shaped and finished with metal instruments without sticking or pulling away from the preparation. It suits a wide range of uses, from Class I, II and V restorations to core build-ups and long-term temporary restorations, and it’s particularly well suited to paediatric and geriatric cases where a straightforward, tooth-conserving technique is helpful.
